Manual Osteopathic Therapy

Manual Osteopathic Therapy is a hands on therapy that focuses on restoring function and eliminating pain by addressing the root cause of the imbalance, injury or illness. The therapist manipulates the alignment of muscles, bones and joints to help remove obstructions throughout the body. This helps with fluids such as lymph and blood to flow easily, helps with alignment and balance and improves the body’s self-healing capabilities.

About Manual Osteopathic therapy.

  • Myofascial Release is a hands-on technique that works to relax, lengthen and realign your fascia. The goal is to relieve pain, as well as increase your range of motion. It is a slow technique where the therapist uses sustained pressure to stretch and lengthen the fascia.

  • Visceral Manipulation is a gentle, hands-on therapy used to help your internal organs (viscera) glide smoothly within your body. Your internal organs are surrounded by connective tissue that holds them in place in the body. Healthy connective tissue should move easily to allow organs to slide on each other when you rotate or flex your torso.

Connective tissue should be loose enough to allow your stomach to expand when you eat, your lungs to open and accept air, your intestines to constrict and relax to move waste to your colon. Congested or inflamed connective tissue impedes these movements. This creates visceral discomfort and dysfunction and can lead to restricted movement and pain in other parts of the body.

This technique can be used to treat abdominal pain, constipation, cramps, indigestion, musculoskeletal conditions (sciatica, shoulder pain), anxiety, depression, women’s health issues, and post-operative scar tissue.

  • Craniosacral therapy is a gentle technique that uses light touch to assess the movement of fluid in and around the central nervous system. It may provide relief from a variety of symptoms and conditions including headaches, neck pain, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, neuralgia, stroke, post-concussion syndrome, and temporomandibular joint syndrome.

  • Osteoarticulations uses the client's own strength and precise positioning of joints to encourage the bones to realign naturally. We do not crack or pop but use the client's own strength combined with placing the joint in a precise opened position to encourage the bones to naturally go back into a position of ease and comfort. The goal is to bring the body into proper alignment for optimal biomechanical function. This treatment can help with neck and back pain, arthritis, sciatica, headaches, vertigo, sacroiliac joint pain, repetitive strain and overuse injuries, pregnancy-related discomfort, tendonitis, and sports injuries
